1. Who is responsible for your data

The Swiss Starter Pack is operated by Alpian SA, Quai du Seujet 18, 1201 Geneva, Switzerland ("we", "us", "our"). Alpian SA is the data controller for the collection of the data you provide through this platform and for its transfer to the partners named below. Once your data has been transferred, each partner becomes an independent controller for what it does with your data.

2. What we collect

If you browse the site without submitting the form, we do not collect personal data about you. When you complete the quiz, we collect:

Identity and contact details: Form of address, first name, last name, email address, phone number, and the language you would like to be contacted in.
Relocation details: Planned arrival date, date of birth, and the city or town you are moving to.
Tax and employment information: Whether you will be a Swiss tax resident, whether you are a US person for tax purposes, and your employment situation. The two tax questions go to Alpian only, which needs them to tell you which products are available to you; the other partners do not receive them.
Service preferences: The services you asked to hear about first, the services you asked to be notified about later, and your answers in the quiz.
Consent and technical records: Which permissions you gave and when, plus your IP address and basic device information collected when the anti-abuse check runs on submission and in our hosting logs.

3. Why we process it, and on what basis

We process your data to prepare your Swiss Starter Pack offers, to pass your details to the four partners named below and tell them which ones you asked to hear from first, to protect the form against automated abuse, and to keep proof of the permissions you gave. Under Swiss data protection law we rely on your consent for the transfer to our partners and for any marketing measurement. Where the EU GDPR also applies to you - which it may, since many of our users are still living in the EU when they sign up - we rely on your consent under Article 6(1)(a) for those purposes, and on our legitimate interest in preventing fraud and abuse for the security checks on the form.

4. The partners we share your data with

By submitting the form you consent to Alpian SA transferring your details to all four partners, so that each may contact you about your move to Switzerland: Alpian SA (banking), Groupe Mutuel (health and other insurances), Salt Mobile SA (mobile and internet) and FirstCaution SA (rental guarantee). The partners you asked to hear from first contact you first; the others may contact you too. Each partner then acts as an independent controller and handles your data under its own privacy policy. Any request about what a partner does with your data after the transfer - including deletion - must be addressed to that partner directly. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone outside this list for marketing.

5. Service providers acting on our behalf

We use a small number of providers who process data strictly on our instructions and may not use it for their own purposes: HubSpot as our CRM, hosted in the European Union; Google, for the reCAPTCHA check that protects the signup form against bots; and Netlify, which hosts the website. These are processors, not partners: they do not receive your data to market to you.

6. Transfers abroad

Our CRM data is held in the European Union. Google and Netlify are based in the United States, so submitting the form and browsing the site involve a transfer there. Those transfers rely on the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework and, where required, on Standard Contractual Clauses adapted to Swiss law. You can request a copy of the safeguards in place by writing to us.

7. Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies when you first arrive. Anything beyond what is strictly necessary - analytics and advertising measurement - runs only if you allow it, and you can change or withdraw that permission at any time. Our Cookie Policy sets out exactly what is used and why.

8. Advertising and measurement

We may run advertising campaigns on third-party platforms to reach people planning a move to Switzerland. Where those campaigns involve measurement tags on this site, they are placed in the advertising category and load only with your permission. We do not upload your contact details to advertising platforms to build audiences unless we have told you so and obtained your consent.

9. Marketing messages

Each of the four partners may contact you about its services, including partners you did not ask to hear from first. Under Swiss unfair competition law, marketing email may only be sent with your prior agreement, must identify the sender, and must offer a free and simple way to unsubscribe in every message. If you receive a message you did not agree to, tell us and we will follow it up with the partner concerned.

10. How long we keep it

We keep your lead data in the segregated Swiss Starter Pack environment for 24 months from your last interaction with us. Records of the permissions you gave are kept for 5 years, and the logs of partner access and retrieval for 12 months. After these periods the data is deleted or anonymised. Each partner sets its own retention period for the copy it receives, in line with its own privacy policy and the law, and undertakes to delete or anonymise the data once it is no longer needed for the marketing purpose for which it was obtained.

11. Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to the people who need it, and the signup endpoint is protected against automated abuse. We apply the technical and organisational measures agreed with our partners and review them as the platform changes.

12. Your rights

You may ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to or restrict processing, and receive it in a portable format. Send any such request to privacy@swissstarterpack.ch. Where processing rests on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time; this does not affect anything done beforehand. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on a request. If you believe your rights have been breached you may complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Bern, or - if the GDPR applies to you - to your local supervisory authority.

13. Automated decisions

The quiz matches you to services using rules based on the answers you give. It does not produce legal effects or similarly significant effects for you, and no partner is obliged to offer you anything on the basis of it. Decisions about whether to accept you as a customer are made by each partner under its own process.

14. Changes to this policy

We review this policy regularly and will publish any updated version here with a new date. If a change materially affects how we use data you have already given us, we will tell you and, where the law requires it, ask for your permission again.
