Cookie Policy
Last updated: 25 August 2026
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on the Swiss Starter Pack website, what they do, and how you can control them. It complements our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website. Similar technologies - such as local storage - work in the same way. Some are deleted when you close your browser; others remain until they expire or you delete them. We treat all of them under this policy, regardless of the underlying technology.
2. What we actually set
We keep this deliberately minimal. When you first arrive, this site sets no cookies at all. Nothing below is placed on your device unless it is strictly necessary or you have given permission.
| Name | Category | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| ssp-cookie-consent | Strictly necessary | Stores your cookie choices so we do not ask again, and so we can demonstrate what you agreed to. Kept in local storage, not sent to any server. | 12 months |
| Google reCAPTCHA | Strictly necessary | Protects the signup form against automated abuse. Loaded only at the moment you submit the form - never on page load. Google receives your IP address and interaction signals. | Set by Google; see Google's privacy policy |
| Analytics | Analytics (consent) | Aggregated measurement of page views and journeys, so we can improve the site. Runs only if you allow the analytics category. | Up to 14 months |
| Advertising | Advertising (consent) | Campaign measurement and audience tags from advertising platforms, so we can see which campaigns work and show relevant ads. Runs only if you allow the advertising category. | Up to 13 months |
3. Consent, and why we ask
Swiss law requires us to inform you about cookies and let you refuse them. EU law goes further and requires your permission before anything non-essential is placed. Because we welcome people who are still living abroad - often in the EU - we apply the stricter standard to everyone: nothing in the analytics or advertising categories runs until you opt in. Refusing is as easy as accepting, and refusing costs you no functionality.
4. Third parties
Google reCAPTCHA is the only third party contacted from your browser, and only when you submit the signup form. Our fonts and images are served from our own domain, so no request is made to Google Fonts or any content network when you browse. Our CRM (HubSpot) is contacted only from our server, never from your browser, so it sets no cookies on your device.
5. Controlling cookies in your browser
Independently of the choices you make here, every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and clear local storage. Blocking strictly necessary items may prevent the signup form from working. Instructions are available in your browser's help pages.
6. Changes and questions
We will update this policy whenever we add or remove a technology, and we will ask for your permission again if the categories change in a way that affects your earlier choice. Questions can be sent to privacy@swissstarterpack.ch.
Change your choices
You can review or withdraw your permission at any time. Withdrawing does not affect anything done before you withdrew.
